Overview of Carmen Copper Mine

    The daily processing capacity of Carmen Copper mine is 60,000 tons/day, which is the largest copper mine in the Philippines, and add the first and second stage pumping stations have total lift of 400M.

As before the Carmen mine had used a diaphragm pump design with a higher lift。In September 2019, the pump head of the Carmen Copper Mine level 2 pump station has reached its limit, and the use range of diaphragm pumps is 0-6mm tailings.In the actual operation process, often happened large stones into the tailings pond, it is very difficult to control the tailings particles less than 6mm, resulting in the diaphragm pump crash.The original concept of 3 with 1 standby line scheme, but in actual operation, the diaphragm pump basically only 1 line operation, the other 2 are often in maintenance state.

Naipu Mining scheme

    Plagued by frequent shutdowns, in 2021 Naipu Mining Machinery provided third stage pumping station tailings delivery system solution for Carmen Copper Mine, that is between the stage 2 pumping station and the highest point of 525 meters, new built Level 3 pumping station,used 4pcs NZJAHPP300 centrifugal slurry pumps in series, used four-stage string tailings conveying system, PLC control system, more than 1000M long steel rubber composite pipeline, the total lift reaches 200M, the most in Asia.

   The phase 1 of the project be completed and put into operation in early 2021, and after two years of stable operation,the scheme of centrifugal slurry pump of Naipu Mining Machinery has been proved effectively. First, it solves the problem of unstable operation of the original diaphragm pump tailings system, and second, the life of the wearing part of the centrifugal slurry pump has been greatly improved, the lifetime of the wearing part of the original diaphragm pump is 1-2 weeks, but the lifetime of the wearing part of the slurry pump of Naipu Mining Machinery as long as 8-10 months.
